So, I should apologize that all I talk about on my blog now is the renovations to our house. Sorry, but it's pretty much all we are doing these days! Mostly because we are trying to move in this weekend.
We have been hard at work slaving away in our kitchen trying to get it in somewhat working order so we can function while living there. We chose to update the kitchen first because that is where we saw the most problems and the easiest fixes. The rest of the top level of the house basically needs new carpet/floors and new paint which we are about done painting. We plan on living on the top level for a few months and then slowly renovating the basement which isn't in the best shape right now. Just poor upkeep from the previous owners, but we definitely can see past that. On the picture above, the "More Counter Over Here" is talking about a wall facing the windows that faces the kitchen, if that makes sense. We will have to add cabinets there since right now there isn't any. The red is being replaced with a light mint color. It's already looking so much lighter and fresher in there.
For any new readers or if you forgot what the before looked like, here it is. Can you say yellow? Also please don't paint your kitchen yellow and red. Worst combination ever!

Wow! You are going to town. Looks great. What ambition you have.
ReplyDeleteIt's starting to come together, how exciting!!! The dining room in the place we are in now was originally brick red...heinous. That's why I re-painted stuff light blue and cream and it helps to lighten up the place! Can't wait to see the finished product with the mint paint and white cabinets :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new home. You've got stuck in to it... looking forward to seeing the end results. I think the mint green and white will look lovely.

That's awesome! We need to completely redo our kitchen. I wish we had done it before we moved in.
ReplyDeleteA kitchen reno is such a big deal b/c it impacts the whole house (we did one as soon as we moved in)! It's so exciting to watch it all come together!
